Salt Lake City, Utah (May 10, 2019) 4Life executives gathered with local and national leaders to recognize the role of Chinese Americans and other immigrant laborers in the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad at the 150th anniversary of the Golden Spike.

On this day in 1869, history was made in Utah when the railheads of Central Pacific and Union Pacific were joined at Promontory Summit to form the country’s first-ever transcontinental line. The completion of the Transcontinental Railroad was, as Utah Governor Gary Herbert suggested, the “moon landing of the 19th century.”

To help preserve local, national, and world history, 4Life donated to the event. As a worldwide company, 4Life recognizes the importance of the vital contributions of immigrant workers to endeavors like the railroad.

The celebration included video remarks by Cui Tiankai, the People’s Republic of China Ambassador to the United States and a celebratory toast by Daniel Mulhall, Ireland Ambassador to the United States.

In addition to 4Life representatives and Governor Herbert, dignitaries onsite included U.S. Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt, presidential biographer and keynote speaker Jon Meacham, U.S. senators Mitt Romney (R-Utah) and Mike Lee (R-Utah), U.S. representative Rob Bishop (R-Utah), and many others.
