Team 4Life Member Wins Arnold Sports Festival
Salt Lake City, Utah (March 8, 2019) Long-standing Team 4Life member Brady Stewart pressed a world record 821-lb lift (372.5 kg) at the 2019 Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio.

Stewart joined Team 4Life in 2011. At that time, he was an elite athlete lifting 600 lb. During the intervening years, Stewart has increased his lift by more than 200 lb and become one of the sport’s strongest and most decorated athletes. Stewart has won seven gold medals in the USA Powerlifting (USAPL) National Bench Press Championships and is a three-time North American Champion.

Vice President of Corporate Communications Calvin Jolley: “We’ve been behind Brady through wins and losses. During the most recent festival, he pressed more than 800 lb on his first lift. Last year, he attempted the 800-lb lift but couldn’t quite lock it out. Brady has shown the importance of perseverance and dedication. He’s a true champion.”

According to the Internal Powerlifting Federation’s (IPF) formula for comparing strength between weight classes, Stewart beat out competitor Blaine Sumner, who lifted 1,003 lb (455 kg) but weighed 391 lb (177.5 kg). Stewart, who weighs 275 lb (125 kg), beat Sumner by less than one IPF formula point in the overall competition.

With 14 Olympic sports and more than 75 sports and events total, the Arnold Sports Festival is the world’s largest multi-sport fitness exposition. Spectators gathered to watch thousands of athletes compete in sports like powerlifting, cheerleading, baton twirling, boxing, gymnastics, table tennis, and archery. One of the highlights is the bodybuilding competition, which was the sole event at the event’s debut in 1989.
