Salt Lake City, UT (December 17, 2021) Yesterday, Foundation 4Life Director of Service Jenna Lisonbee appeared on KUTV Channel 2 (CBS) to launch Start Healthy, Stay Healthy. This philanthropic initiative will serve children through the Granite Education Foundation in Salt Lake County.

Lisonbee: “Our broader intention is to launch similarly themed efforts on a national and international level in 2022. The mission of Foundation 4Life is to break the cycle of poverty that so many children experience, and general wellness is a critical component of success.”

The Granite Education Foundation, 4Life-sponsored Start Healthy, Stay Healthy program will concentrate on eliminating learning barriers for students—particularly students emerging from poverty. Some of these barriers are visible: warm clothes, food, and school supplies. Some barriers are not so easily seen, such as hunger, emotional wellness, and basic self-worth.

Lisonbee: “We are so excited to support students in physical, mental, and emotional ways in order to allow for a future of opportunity, which every child deserves.”

Granite School District is unique. The 64,000+ students attending 92 schools speak 106 languages and dialects. Granite represents Utah’s 3rd largest district and is the 55th largest in the United States. Among the student population, 65% of the children are food insecure and more than 50% live at or below the poverty level. Additionally, 70% of Utah’s refugees live within the Granite District.

Co-Founder of 4Life and Founder of Foundation 4Life Bianca Lisonbee: “Service is a privilege. Giving is an act of love. We will continue to break the cycle of poverty for children here at home and abroad.”
