Salt Lake City, UT (May 3, 2023) Yesterday, Dr. Mara Helena Saalfeld visited 4Life global headquarters. Saalfeld is responsible for the legalization of colostrum in Brazil.

In the 1950s, Brazil passed a law that made colostrum illegal for human consumption. Dr. Saalfeld spent countless hours lobbying the government to do away with the prohibition. In March of 2017, she and allies in the federal senate succeeded in legalizing colostrum for human consumption. Her pioneering work led to opportunities for 4Life and other businesses in the country.

Dr. Saalfeld was recently appointed as the President of EMATER in Rio Grande do Sul. EMATER is a Brazilian agricultural research corporation that works to improve the productivity and sustainability of agriculture in Brazil. Dr. Saalfeld, a large animal veterinarian, has a PhD in biotechnology. Her thesis explored the potential uses for bovine colostrum. 4Life is a leading expert in immune system sciences, transfer factor, and colostrum.

4Life Chief Scientific Officer Dr. David Vollmer: “It’s been wonderful to collaborate with Dr. Saalfeld. Her research and policy work in the field of colostrum studies is unrivaled. I look forward to developing our friendship.”

4Life, the Immune System Company®, and the first to bring transfer factor research to market, has offices in dozens of countries to serve the company’s worldwide customers.
